Visit Site. Key Details of TechTool Pro. Developer's Description By Micromat. TechTool Pro is one of the most robust hardware diagnostic tool available for Macintosh. Techtool Pro 12 takes advantage of the latest technologies introduced with the release of macOS Previous versions of Techtool Pro had to make certain compromises to support earlier versions of macOS.

With Techtool Pro 12, we have been able to take advantage of more advanced methods to perform many of the tasks that make up the functionality in Techtool Pro. We have updated many of the tests and tools to use these technologies to keep your Mac running smoothly. Techtool Pro supports iCloud Drive. Techtool Pro will then send test results to any iOS device logged in to the same iCloud account.

So if you have a long test or tests running that you want to know the results of, but you need to hit the road, you can now get notified of your results anywhere you have an internet connection. It was after a long and painful trial and error that I learned that this app was messing my system. Because Onyx is not only free, it is The Best. ONYX is the Standard. Michael5 Feb 22 I have used TTPro for many years and have Version 12 that needs upgrading to V15 as I bought a modern computer recently..

It will cost me AU!!! This is a crazy price for loyal customers. Goodbye TTPro. Ozron Feb 5 I've downloaded the app from this page, but it is asking for a serial number. I presume this is not a demo version? Would prefer to run a demo and evaluate before paying the upgrade fee from an older version. After years of being a loyal customer, I have decided to stop purchasing TechTool Pro due to aggressive pricing.

Even with a discount coupon, TTP is not value for money anymore. If I want to purchase it now, I have to pay twice as much. I used to run TechTool Pro Volume Rebuild tool to make the disk directory more efficient and sometimes repair a corrupted volume. Thanks to Apple for continually bringing improvements to its macOS.

Filchescat Dec 30 MicroMat's December launch of paid version 15 only a short time after their routine Fall paid update to v. Don't mind really the annual, but just a couple months later - bad form. I updated in October, more than 30 days ago. I sent an email to MicroMat explaining my point of view, asked for either a refund for the v.

They send a serial to 15 along with a download link. Macbookpro Dec 30 I purchased version 14 within the last 30 days and the sales department via email request provided me with version 15 at no cost. Fariborz Dec 29 I upgraded to version 14 just a few months ago just to find out that I need to pay for an upgrade to version 15!!!!! Even companies that have a subscription policy have more consideration for their customers than Micromat! TurdFerguson82 Dec 12 They charge massive prices for every upgrade.

Once a new OS is released, you will be forced to upgrade. The past few paid upgrades, I paid for as I had already invested too much money to have a non-functioning copy, but I can't sink anymore in this app. Most of their customers actually like the product despite the overwhelmingly negative reviews.

Functionality, I wold rate the app 5 of 5 stars; the value on the other-hand is a 0! This app is nice, but just read the customer reviews; their upgrade policy is ludicrous! They really could make more by not extorting their customers with such steep upgrade prices at every possible opportunity! I just don't want to support a company that has such little regard for their customers. They could have lifelong customers that would also rate their app highly resulting in exponentially more new customers if they would just listen to their customer base previous customers all echoing the same complaint!

Lower the upgrade price and maybe consider a free upgrade to customers who just purchased an upgrade in the past calendar year which really should be free if already paid for an upgrade in the past 2 years.

Or provide compatibility for new MacOS releases and just charge for TTP releases that have new functionality and tools. It They could multiply their current user base exponentially which would more provide them a much greater net income by just being reasonable with their sales tactics. I just can't make sense of their price gouging techniques when every customer complaint mentions that very reason they rate this app so low as they are switching in great numbers to competitors inferior products.

Derekcurrie Aug 18 A minor update of v Gazman Jul 14 I used to be a long-time user of TTP since version 4. However, with modern Macs it has become increasingly irrelevant and with six paid upgrades in the last three years myself and many others have realised we can easily live without it.

Dannymontani Jun 10 Like me, those of you who had v They actually emailed me back telling me there would be a fix 4 days ago. Lived up to that. I have not tried to install it as of yet. Just sayin'. Aargl Jun 9 Geography Is Destiny Jun 8 Does anyone know if ShotBlocker Jun 8 Poor TechTool, poor Micromat. TechTool Pro is officially up to version 14, but here on MacUpdate, it's frozen in time at version 13? I used to upgrade regularly, mostly out of habit, but honestly, TT has never actually found a problem with my Macs.

It has become superfluous. It might be useful for someone who supports many Mac owners, but that would require ProToGo to work reliably, which for me it never did. TechTool was great back in the olden days when we all booted from hard drives. Does anyone actually do a surface scan anymore? I love the slick graphics with the Sensors and Fans tests, but that's not enough to justify the price.

If you want to test memory, get the free memtest Meister-Fritz Jun 6 I cannot say anything about the current version. From my experience, once TechTool Pro entered the Mac world, it seemed to have a history of failure. I did purchase it a couple of times and I was not pleased with its performance. Frankly, it never ran properly.

Alas, I won't buy it again. Dannymontani Jun 5 Careful out there in the wonderland. This version Lucky for me I had run from their repair disk and was able to delete it and reinstall from my desktop app. C'mon guys, really I'm really just about done with you after20yrs. Michael-Vilain Jun 4 A later update broke this feature but support sent me a beta version that worked.

I waited for Show more. Similar apps.
